Agatha Christie’s Detection Club
In 1930, Agatha Christie, Britain’s queen of crime, picked up her fountain pen to craft puzzles that hooked a nation. Her 66 novels, like The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, spun...
The Conway Stewart Detection Club Pen is a tribute to one of the most exclusive literary societies in the world. Designed in collaboration with crime writer Michael Jecks, this pen honours the Detection Club, founded in 1930 by literary greats such as Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, and G.K. Chesterton.
Engraved on its barrel and cap are the names of the Club's original members and past presidents, including luminaries like Harry Keating, Simon Brett and Martin Edwards. Atop the cap rests "Eric the Skull," the Club’s emblematic mascot, central to its induction ceremonies since the time of Dorothy L. Sayers. A red clip spacer, symbolising the "blood in writing," adds a subtle nod to the drama of detective fiction.
The pen’s design balances practicality with elegance. Compact yet weighty, this pen has been designed by writers for writers. The brass-lined barrel ensures a comfortable, stable writing experience. Its dual filling system accommodates both ink cartridges and bottled ink, offering versatility for every writer. The pen fits effortlessly into a pocket, combining portability with timeless style.
The wide cap band is made from 9ct Gold and is stamped with English hall-marks to show its purity and quality. The other rings on the pen are also 9ct gold.
Available as a fountain pen or rollerball
The fountain pen is fitted with an 18ct gold nib.
Limited edition of 200
The edition number of each pen is engraved on the end of the barrel, and each pen comes with a pen polishing cloth, a leaflet explaining English hall-marks and a user guide.
Presented in a specially designed box that doubles as a pen stand, the Detection Club Pen also comes with a certificate of authenticity. This limited-edition piece is more than a writing instrument—it’s a tangible connection to the golden age of detective fiction, crafted for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
