We are honoured to introduce a special edition pen from Conway Stewart, celebrating the 150th anniversary of Sir Winston Churchill's birth.
About Winston Churchill
Born on 30th November 1874 at Blenheim Palace, Sir Winston Churchill was a pivotal figure in British history, renowned for his leadership during World War II. His resolve and inspirational speeches united the nation against tyranny, playing a crucial role in the Allied victory. Churchill was also an avid user of fine writing instruments, often choosing Conway Stewart pens. He is regarded by many as the Greatest Briton that ever lived, and this was confirmed in 2002 by a BBC poll.
Churchill's Legacy
Beyond his political achievements, Churchill was a celebrated author, winning the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953. His notable works include the six-volume history "The Second World War". Churchill's influence also extended into British art and social welfare, leaving a lasting legacy in many fields.
The Pen
This special edition is a Conway Stewart Churchill sterling silver overlay pen fitted with a 23ct gold-plated sterling silver cap button engraved with Winston Churchill's birthday.
The barrel and cap overlay is engraved with an intricate guilloché pattern, created using a traditional engine-turning machine that is nearly a century old. This guilloché engraving reflects light in all directions which modern engraving methods can not match. This meticulous craftsmanship makes this pen a true work of art.
The last time Conway Stewart made a Churchill overlay pen was for Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee and that was only made in 18ct gold
