Queen Elizabeth II has become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service, having acceded to the throne in 1952. To celebrate the occasion, Conway Stewart has designed two stunning pens; a Sterling Silver pen which is a Limited Edition of 70, AND a very special PLATINUM version limited to only 7 pens.
Both pens have the Assay Offices' Platinum Jubilee commemorative mark engraved on top of the cap, and then their respective precious metal hall-marks on the barrel.
SOLID PLATINUM VERSION LIMITED EDITION OF 7 PENS
The solid Platinum pen is made to order and can be customised to the buyer's requirements. The Platinum version also has a platinum clip rather than a gold coloured clip which is on the Sterling Silver pen.
PLATINUM JUBILEE COMMEMORATIVE MARK
The commemorative mark , designed by Thomas Fattorini Ltd, depicts an Orb which is both a symbol of the rule of monarchy and the precious metal Platinum as a traditional assay mark. There are 7 pearls to symbolise the 7 decades; one of the pearls is superimposed over the centre of the Celtic cross which represents the Union; Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England. At the centre of the orb above the dividing line is HM’s Royal Cypher (Elizabeth Regina II) and below the numerals “70” to represent 70 years as our Monarch.
