The Jasmin Pen by Henry Simpole – Limited Edition
Working with the executors of Henry Simpole’s Estate, Conway Stewart is delighted to offer a very limited number of his overlay pens, all original pieces from Henry’s own collection. Last year, the few remaining William Morris pens sold out in days, and now we proudly present The Jasmin Pen – ONLY 8 Sterling Silver pens AND 5 Vermeil pens available.
Design and Craftsmanship
Henry designed this pen after producing his famous Snake pen in early 2000’s. The Jasmin Pen was designed to mirror the gentle beauty of a Jasmin flower’s leaves. The three-dimensional pattern is a fine example of his unique vision. Made in Sterling Silver, each pen carries the full London Assay Office hallmarks along with Henry’s personal initials (HCS), ensuring its quality and authenticity.
Distinctive Features
The barrel and cap on these Jasmin pen are made with red vulcanite which is a very rare material in todays pen world. Traditionally, pen manufacturers in the early twentieth century used Vulcanite/(often red) or Ebonite (often black) to make their pens. This hard rubber material has a distinctive odour that will remind you of the delight of vintage pens. These photographs can not show the true beauty of this matt red material that works perfectly with the Sterling Silver overlays.
A Heartfelt Tribute
The pen is named in honour of Jasmin Cameron, a founding member of the Writing Equipment Society. Her advice, kindness, and support helped inspire Henry to pursue his career in pen making. This limited-edition piece is his tribute to her early encouragement.
Customisation Options
Each pen is fitted with an 18ct gold Conway Stewart nib, available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, or Broad. Special nib options are offered, with choices for an italic, stub, or oblique grind, allowing you to tailor your writing experience.
Also the barrel has a cartouche which can be engraved with a short name or initials or a date. Choose "Barrel Engraving" to select this option.
With its blend of fine craftsmanship, history, and exclusivity, The Jasmin Pen is more than just a writing instrument – it is a true collector’s item.
